Month Of Mayhem; Breakfast at Tiffany's

Holly Golightly or  Lula Mae, as she was originally born is one of my favourite characters in classic films, of course Breakfast At Tiffany's.
If she was real.
She's not real Claire
My ideal Sunday morning, forever, will always be crusty croissants, sun streaming through a window, hot fresh coffee and Breakfast At  Tiffanys on the telly.
Truman Capotes' book is rather a more sordid, but still rich affair.
It is a vibe, a feeling of young urban New York at the end of the 50s.
A time when everything goes, but only for the priveliged moneyed classes.
You had to fit in to get in.
So poor Lula Mae wedged herself in to that cold, swinging scene, and finally escaped to South America.
In the film, she settles in New York with the now un-gay George Peppard (Paul) and that no-named cat.
She was also blonde in the book, but Audrey played the film version of Holly exquisitely. Here's my interpretation.
In nail polish.
Enjoy.

You mustn't give your heart to a wild thing.
The more you do, the stronger they get, until they're strong enough to run into the woods or fly into a tree.
And then to a higher tree and then to the sky
